This is my sisters
JoLee and
Zeffie with me about 30 minutes before going to the hospital. I had gone to see Dr.
Lunt Wednesday morning (6/10) and was told that I was dilated to a 5 and 80 percent effaced. my contractions weren't consistent so he sent me home and told me to head to the hospital when they became more frequent. I called into work and told them I wasn't coming in and went home.
Zeffie came over and we went for a walk to see if we could start some contractions...nothing. About 3:00pm i started having very mild contractions but they were coming every 3 to 4 minutes. we timed them for about an hour and both my mom and
Zeff said that I should go get checked out at the hospital. I did and the nurse said that she thought it was too early and that they would probably send me home but they would monitor me for an hour and see how I was progressing. Dr.
Lunt came in about an hour later and checked me out. He said that he could send me home but that I would probably be back in a few hours so he decided to admit me. At about 6:00 pm he came in and broke my water. By 7:00pm my contractions were very painful so I had the anesthesiologist give me an epidural. It was great! I watched the monitor and saw my contractions but did not feel a thing. The nurses came in at 8:30pm and I was dilated to a 7. They came back at 10:30pm and I was dilated to a 9. They told me it would not be much longer and I would have to start pushing. At 11:30 they came back and I was dilated to a 10. They had me start pushing and about 30 minutes later they called in Dr.
Lunt and about 15 minutes after that Berkley was born. It was the most amazing thing ever. To see her for the first time and to hear her cry was so incredible. Being a mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
